Our Chief Operating Officer spoke in partnership with The American Center in Moscow, presenting “50 States,” a weekly series of livestreamed presentations exploring each of the 50 U.S. states.
Charles Doarn spoke about Texas, a state he worked in while working for NASA. He also holds academic appointments at Wright State University and George Washington University.
Prof. Doarn spent more than 30 years working with NASA, much of it based at the Johnson Space Center in Houston — giving him ample opportunity to explore Texas both as a resident and a traveler. From its landscapes and food to its people, weather, sports, and history, he’s seen the state’s remarkable diversity firsthand. As he puts it: seeing is believing — there’s no place like Texas.
His NASA career centered on human spaceflight and the unique challenges and opportunities it presents.
