Doarn edited two books on Telemedicine over the past 18 months.
Each volume contributes to the literature by showcasing various applications of telemedicine and telehealth worldwide. Telemedicine – Models of Care was published in mid-January 2026 and contains Doarn’s chapter on the evolution of telemedicine across time. Doarn is an award winning author and an emeritus professor, Department of Environmental and Public Health Sciences, University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He has been the editor-in-chief for the Telemedicine and e-Health Journal since 2005 and has lectured on this subject and space medicine worldwide. In addition, Doarn serves as the Chief Operating Officer of SolaMed Solutions, LLC., which focuses on commercial human spaceflight.
